Event Report 2018 Kevin and Jim’s Run. 2nd May Report by John Gill We met in Applegarth Car park Northallerton at 6.30 for a prompt 7.00 getaway but disaster struck, the fair had arrived in town overnight and block our exit route from the carpark. Kevin had to alter all the pace notes by hand before we could set off. To complicate matters there were a few observation questions on the route with prizes at the end. We had a very enjoyable run to the west of Northallerton ending up at the Buck Inn Thornton Watlass. Jim and Kevin were out and about taking photographs at various vantage points. Angela and I were last to leave and were some way behind, we followed the new directions but went straight on at I think the third roundabout and got stuck in the middle of the Fair!! A little later on we came across a worried looking Kevin, he said “you were last to set off and only three cars have passed me where are they all?” Happy to report that in the end everyone made it to the book although at one point one of our members was coming in the wrong direction towards me. We had a good meal at the Buck and Kevin gave out the prizes, I cannot remember who won though, let me know if you want your name up in lights!! We held a raffle and the Buck donated £3 from the cost of each meal we raised a very healthy £83 for our chosen Charity of the year.
